Shaykh Harun Al Faqir Faye


He was born in Senegal, West Africa in 1949 in a learned and blessed family of shurafa, descendants of the Prophet Muhammad. Sheikh Harun is the first grandson of the great Sufi Master,Sheikh Samba Saib Gueye Haydar of Thies, Senegal (1870-1966). He is the the elder son of the noble Sheikha, Khadijah Gueye Haydar who taught the Holy Qur’an to hundreds of women in the school of her father. Many,many people from all over the world frequented this school of Sheikh Saib, which was one of the greatest centers of Quranic and Sufi learning in Senegal before Senegal’s independence.

Shaykh Harun came to the United States in 1994 and immediately began to teach Islam in all its dimensions (islam - submission, iman - faith, and ihsan – beautiful sincerity and witnessing) . He founded a Mosque and community in Monck’s Corner, South Carolina. The circle of Remembrance (zikr) of the Mustafawiyyu Sufi Order that he established in America is called the Circle of the Fuqara (‘Those who empty themselves to God’s Presence). Sheikh Harun has also established Shams’ul Huda International Islamic Academy in Dakar, Senegal, where students from around the world come to learn Qur’an, hadith (Prophetic traditions), Arabic, French,and other subjects, including sports.

Shaykh Harun is a founding member of ISRA's Irshad Council and serves as a spiritual Advisor to ISRA. He actively supports the work of ISRA and has addressed numerous conventions and gatherings of the organization.

Shaykha Maryam Kabeer Faye


Maryam Kabeer Faye was guided in her journey of profound transformation and illumination to many extraordinary places and understandings, ultimately to the realization of the deep truth that all lives are connected and united in the oneness of the Creator. Born in Hollywood, Ca, she was led to live in India and Nepal, and in monasteries in Europe, and then guided to embrace Islam at the hands of an ancient Sufi Master a few minutes away from the tomb of the Prophet Abraham.

The most profound source of her spiritual achievement came through her joinning of Mustafawiyya Tariqa originally of senegal. Sheikha Maryam Kabeer Faye, was trained extensively by the hand of Sheikh Harun Rashid Faye, and received the black mantle from him as a Sheikha in the Mustafawiyya Tariqat. She is the author of the prize-winning book, Journey Through Ten ThousandVeils, The Alchemy of Transformation on the Sufi Path.She is a frequent Speaker and Teacher on Spirituality, Islam, and Tasawwuf. She strongly supports ISRA and has addressed many ISRA convetions and gatherings in the past

She teaches Qur'an to girls in Gambia (Africa) and women in America, and is also a teacher of women in prison. Her house in Philadelphia is a zawiyyah of the Mustafawiyya and refuge for spiritual travelers, for those seeking knowledge, awareness, and remembranceof God.Sheikha Maryam Kabeer Faye is a speaker and writer on Islam, Sufism, and spirituality. She travels extensively throughout the world on the mission of building bridges of light, knowledge, and understanding.
